PRINT DESIGN

Print design refers to any designs that will be printed out on some sort of media. Included in this are logos, business cards, brochures, mailers, catalogs, advertisements, trade show booths, displays, and graphics, signs, posters, and more. I started out doing designs for print before I got into web design, so I have plenty of experience. Below is an overview of the types of projects that can be printed and how they can help you.

LOGOS AND BUSINESS IDENTITY

Your logo is one of the most important pieces of your business's visual identity. A good logo tells a potential customer a lot about your business. A logo can tell someone what you do, make or sell. It can tell someone the quality or type of product you offer. It can even trigger an emotional response.

Let's say you sell parts for cars. Maybe you want a logo that gives an impression of motion and excitement. A logo like that would give most people the impression that your parts are all about speed and performance. Maybe you would rather have a logo with thick, solid lettering. That logo would give the impression of strength and endurance, and most people would get the idea that your parts are all about quality and that they are long lasting. Thinner, modern lettering combined with the right colors could give the impression that your parts are high-tech. Whichever way you go, a well-designed logo will immediately generate those thoughts.

I will use my considerable graphics skills to design a logo that suits your business. I will create a logo that is eye-catching and that people will remember. People should recognize your logo with a quick glance. In many ways, your logo is your business's identity. It is one of the few things that cannot be changed on a regular basis. I will design a logo that you can display with pride for years and even decades.

Your logo can then go on all of your business identity pieces, from business cards and letterhead to signs and advertisements, all of which I can design for you.

ADVERTISING

The term 'advertising' covers a vast range of printed design products. Just about anything you put your name or logo on is a form of advertising. Even the receipts and invoices you hand out can be a form of advertisement.

When most people think of printed advertisements, they think of magazine or newspaper ads. I have created designs for both, and whether you want a small newspaper ad or an all-out magazine advertising campaign, I can help you. I can design the attention-grabbing, informative advertisements that will get people to contact you or buy from you. I will even help with market research if you are unable to do it yourself.

There are many other forms of print advertisement. A few of those are listed below.

TRADE SHOW BOOTHS AND DISPLAYS

Do you rent out booth space at tradeshows, or are you thinking about doing it? Tradeshows can be an extremely effective way to get your name into the market place. Tradeshows draw in thousands of people and businesses. If you pick the right tradeshow, most of those attendees will be there looking for your type of business. Every single one of them is a potential customer. The problem is, your booth or display will be sitting there amongst possibly hundreds of competitors.

So how do you make yourself stand out? How can you draw all of those potential customers away from your competitors and over to your floor space? While your products or services are an important part of this, it doesn't matter how good they are if no one sees them. At trade shows it is extremely important to have a booth or display that stands out from the others. There are many ways of accomplishing this, from having pieces of your display that people can see over all of the other displays to special lighting. While I do not build booths and displays myself, I will create the design that will make you stand out. I will also help you to find a builder that will put all of the pieces together in the end. I will design anything from small displays and posters to full-size booths.

BROCHURES AND PRODUCT LITERATURE.

The term 'brochure' often refers to many different types of marketing materials, from standard tri-fold brochures to specification sheets to menues. Brochures can get to your customers in many ways. You can hand them out at your business location or tradeshows, you can mail them, and there are also many locations that have a place where you can put your brochures such as restaraunts, rest stops, grocery stores, gift shops and many other places.

Brochures should be eye-catching, but their main purpose is to inform. Flashy design are ok, but should not get in the way of the readability of the text. At the same time, you don't want to put a book's worth of content in a brochure. A brochure should summarize whatever you are trying to sell with it, whether that is a physical product or a service. It should be well-organized and easy to follow. And, most important, it should make your potential customer want to get in touch with you.

SIGNS AND POSTERS

Signs and posters can also be a great way to advertise your business. There are many places you can hang posters and signs, from trade shows to billboards to your waiting or conference room.

In most cases, a poster or sign is not meant to provide a lot of information. Typically it should have an attention grabbing graphic of some sort combined with a few lines of text that generate interest. The idea of a poster or sign is usually to get a person to contact the business to find out more.

One of the most underutilized uses for posters and signs is within your business location. Many business owners do not think to do this because they feel that once a customer is there, they have already passed the point of needing to advertise. If you only have one product or only provide one service, this may be true. If you have multiple products or services, then posters and signs within your business can go a long way towards adding sales. Your customers may not know about everything you offer, even after they are in your store or office. Having posters and signs on your wall can quickly provide new interest for a customer and make an extra sale for you.

I have designed many sizes of posters and signs, from 8 x 10 inches to 4 x 6 feet. Whatever size you need, I can design it for you and have it printed and mounted by a trusted vendor.

EVERYTHING ELSE

All of the above covers only a portion of the different uses of print designs. Every business has their own special needs. I can create designs for just about anything you can imagine. If you have an idea for something you want printed, but you don't see it listed here, please feel free to contact me to ask about it.
